Mission

Our main aim is to preserve biodiversity, cultural identity and promote community capacity building for sustainable practices in natural resource management and development. Our assessment for alternative development projects, as well as the encouragement of responsible management practices in the use of natural resources, will always have a strong social justice component that shall respond to the stakeholders needs in a common path to eradicate poverty.

Goals

  • To promote sustainable development and natural resource/ecosystem management projects, where the basis for responsible use of biodiversity is scientific research and local community participation.
  • To increase awareness of global environmental services and the alternative economic benefits that natural resource management and conservation can provide.
  • To increase agency, governmental and community capacity building, by coordinating environmental oriented processes that can pivot towards sustainable development.
  • To support collective appropriation of biodiversity and ecosystems, where traditional knowledge can apply for conservation effectiveness, by promoting alternative technologies and rescuing traditional practices which imply sustainable management of natural resources and energy.
